Meet the NextGen Coaching Staff / LTD Coaching


Chris Sustala, Head Coach
"I am honored for the opportunity to grow on a foundation that we have set through the previous years. Each of the past 2 seasons has taught me something different in working with the NextGen youth and I am confident this year will be no different."

This will be Chris' 3rd year as a coach for the NextGen program. As well as coaching many local triathletes he has spent several years coaching youth swimming through the South Shore Sails Swim Team and the Aggie Swim Club at all levels from developmental to seniors and masters.

Certifications/Qualifications:
• USAT Youth and Junior Coach Certified
• USAT Level 1 Triathlon Coach
• USS Assistant Coach for South Short Sails Swim Team
• CPR/AED Certified
• Certified in Water Safety Training for Swim Coaches




Matt Chauvin, Assistant Head Coach
This will also be Matt’s 3rd year working with the BAM! NextGen program. He has been working with athletes of all ages for the past 20 years as a Fitness Director, a strength trainer or a triathlon/multisport coach. He also values sharing his training experiences and passion for triathlon with the future of the sport.

• USAT Certified Triathlon Coach
• BS in Exercise Physiology and Bio Chemistry
• American College of Sports Medicine/Fitness Specialist
• CPR/AED Certified
• Certified in Water Safety Training for Swim Coaches








Morgan Fox, Assistant Coach
Morgan enjoys working with children and athletics because she feels it to be extremely important to instill a passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle at a young age. Morgan’s experience in health and fitness and coaching includes two summers as a Harbour Tide Swim Coach, a year as the masters swim coach for Texas A&M and currently coaching the South Shore Sails Developmental and Level one age groups. Morgan has a degree in nutritional sciences. She worked with kids as a summer camp counselor
for one summer.

• Certified Lifeguard
• CPR/AED Certified for the professional Rescuer
• USMS Certified Swim Coach
• USS Assistant Coach for South Short Sails Swim Team





Evan Lapka, Assistant Coach
Evan is an avid tri-thusiast and would love any opportunity to help introduce kids to the wide world of triathlons and foster a safe and fun experience that would keep them coming back for more. Evan comes from a competitive swimming background and spent 3-1/2 years teaching children's swim lessons and managing aquatics facilities for the Clear Lake Community Association. Evan also spent 2 years working as a camp counselor at Cho Yeh campgrounds in Huntsville, TX in multiple capacities from leading nature hikes, coaching basketball and overseeing rope climbing courses. Evan is currently working on a BS in Fitness and Human Performance at UHCL and serves on BAM's board of advisors.

Certifications/Qualifications:
• CPR/AED Certified for the professional Rescuer
• ACE Certified Personal Trainer
