NextGen Youth & Junior Development Program

NextGen's goal is to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle through the sport of triathlon for athletes ages 7-14. In addition to swimming, biking and running, we promote teamwork and camaraderie while having fun.

BAM! NextGen is headed into its third year as a youth oriented triathlon training group. Our program has grown from 22 participants our first year, to nearly 50 participants for the 2013 program.

The 2014 season will include two 8 week sessions.  Sign up for one or both!  The training program culminates with the participation in a triathlon. Our initial goal race for this year is the Houston Kids Tri.  Other great events are the Kemah Kids Tri and Y Freedom Tri!

USA Triathlon requires children to be turning 7 years old by December 31st they year they would like to begin participating in races; the same rule applies to our program.  Other than the age requirement, no fancy equipment necessary! A regular bike, standard CPSC approved bicycle helmet, swimsuit, goggles, running shoes and a positive attitude is all that is needed.

The program currently utilizes facilities at Clear Falls High School.  Through weekly coached workouts, by LTD Coaching, youth participate in combination workouts of swimming, biking and running.  Break-time offers an opportunity to further their education about triathlon and general fitness as the coaches and guest speakers talk with the athletes.

Our 2014 sponsors make this program possible and affordable for families.  We appreciate their contribution, as well as their commitment, to help us teach the importance of fitness and health to today's kids.
