Currently Training For (list the races you are focusing your efforts on for 2014):
My triathlon schedule will be lighter this year. I’ve already signed up for No Label and CB&I. I do like Bridgeland and the 5150 in Galveston. The rest I’ll play by ear.
Started Triathlon Because:
It was something else to do other than running and rowing.
Best Racing Experience:
Won a National collegiate championship rowing for Syracuse University
Worst Racing Experience:
That would have to be the 2012 edition of the Kemah Olympic Triathlon. As if being knocked around by the waves was bad enough during the swim but I really had a disastrous bike leg peddling into a stiff headwind on the way out. Now even with bad swim and bike legs can always salvage something with what I do best and that is run. Well not that day. Getting off the bike I had nothing. I had less than nothing. I never thought I could ever run a 10k that slowly. And to add insult to injury I was tagged with my first and only penalty!
Racing Advice (training tips, favorite drink or food item, ways to avoid injuries etc.):
Stay focused on your goals. It’s amazing what you can do with the right plan and motivation.
